Great Ping G20 Driver The Ping G20 Driver is for all ability levels. The external weighting of thePing G20 Driver helps launch the ball high with low spin for maximum distance and accuracy. Distance is generated with a new version of Ping's proprietary high-balance-point shaft technology, which allows the golfer to swing a heavier clubhead at the same speed with a high moment of inertia. The clubface on the 460cc head is larger, creating more forgiveness across the hitting area and the G20's head rotation is neutral, allowing the golfer to deliver the clubface straight at impact. The G20 felt very good and certainly had some pop to it. The head looks massive and has a more low-profile look that I expected. Interestly looks more like a Callaway designed crown, but I do prefer the lighter colour to the former G15 look. The Tour Shaft did make a difference and added a more penetrating ball flight to my swing. Easy to hit, and can get the ball in the air, probably perfect for a 10-20 handicapper. Picked up an 8.5 G20 in a tour X shaft yesterday to use in a tournament today. Wow is all I can say about it. I've tried all the gimmicky clubs out there and was very surprised by the G20's performance. It hit boring and long running rockets all day. In fact, my playing partners tried it numerous times and consistently hit it further than their own drivers. It was also very easy to work- High, low, left and right! Though I'm a 2 hdcp, my playing partners were between 8-17 hdcps and got pretty much the same results. If you want a workman-like driver that performs, and you could care less about showing off this beast is for you! Ping K15 Fairway Wood |
